There have been no reported cases where dogs showed DCM symptoms while being fed a ZIWI Peak recipe.
More recently in June 2020, a scientific review of DCM in dogs by McCauley et al found no evidence to prove the link between DCM and grain-free dog food. In the article titled “Review of canine dilated cardiomyopathy in the wake of diet-associated concerns” by McCauley et al., 2020 they noted that DCM is believed to be present in 0.3 to 1 million dogs in the USA and there has been no firm linkage between food and DCM.
